CMS Real Estate Ltd. is a leading Calgary, Alberta-based sales & leasing, property management, property development, and mortgage brokerage company.
Gerry Macdonald and Tim Casey had combined experience specializing in the leasing of industrial properties in the North East quadrant of the City of Calgary when they decided to strike out on their own. Gerry and Tim left a large Industrial Commercial Real Estate firm to launch CMS Real Estate Ltd.
John Hamilton joined CMS Real Estate Ltd. as a commercial real estate agent and the company expanded its leasing activities of Industrial properties to the entire City of Calgary. CMS Real Estate Ltd. quickly established itself as an industrial leasing industry leader.
Maureen Macdonald, having completed her CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation, joined CMS Real Estate Ltd., as a property management service specialist. Property Management has grown into a substantial part of CMS Real Estate Ltd’s business, providing services to owners from Canada and the USA.
Gerry Macdonald received his CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation and diversified his practice into Sales of Investment Real Estate as well as the Industrial leasing.
CMS Real Estate Highlights
1992 – We added the initiation & management of Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs) to our services. Currently, we have seven (7) MICs, all of which were initiated and organized by Gerry Macdonald and continue to be managed my CMS Real Estate Ltd.
1992 – With the Mortgage Investment Corporation being an integral part of CMS’s business, it was necessary to provide full mortgage brokerage and mortgage syndication services. Currently, CMS Real Estate Ltd. offers full mortgage brokerage services for the residential, industrial, commercial industry, as well as, for its Mortgage Investment Corporations.
1997 - Gerry Macdonald bought out his partner, Tim Casey. Gerry Macdonald and Maureen Macdonald became sole owners of CMS Real Estate Ltd.
After gaining total ownership of CMS Real Estate Ltd., the development of industrial, commercial buildings, development and conversion of industrial condominiums became a substantial part of CMS Real Estate Ltd.’s business.
CMS Real Estate Ltd. has expanded the office staff and acquired additional computer programs to assist with the management and administration of the Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs) and the Property Management.
CMS Real Estate Ltd. currently offers full service including development, property management, leasing, sales, condominium conversions and mortgage brokerage services including management of Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs).
